In May last year, the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal (TPP) ruled violations by the European Union and transnational companies in Latin America. In conjunction with several civil society organizations from Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, GTPI presented complains against drugs seizures made by European officials and their damage to health in many countries. The sentence handed down for all the cases by this Court – which is only opinative – reinforces the important role played by civil society organizations that monitor abuses and violations of rights.
