According to story published at Folha de São Paulo Newspaper, Interfarma, a Brazilian Research Pharmaceutical Industry Association representing 35 laboratories based on the country, had donate money to 18 Brazilian politicians, 12 of them elected on October elections. Companies represented by Interfarma concentrates more than a half of pharmaceutical segment revenues and have particular interest in congress discussions on patents granting and regulation of ANVISA (National Agency of Sanitarian Surveillance). According to Brazilian electoral laws, donations coming from associations and unions are forbidden. Interfarma said on note that its donations are not irregulars.
